Incognito 2018

Added on by Adrian and Shane.
We are delighted to announce that we're part of the ‘Incognito’ exhibition, Jack & Jill’s 2018 Public Art Project.

Over 1000 Irish and International artists have joined this initiative to paint, draw, photograph, etch, sew or create something on a postcard (150mm x 100mm), which will form the largest group exhibition held in Ireland this year. It will include work by Tracey Emin, John Kelly, Peter Curling, Martin Gale, Olivia Golden, P.J. Crook, Ed Miliano, Abigail O’Brien, and Richard Gorman – but all pieces are exhibited anonymously, and sold for €50 each to the first buyer present in person at the Solomon Gallery after 10am on Friday 6th April.

In 2017, this event raised €81,000 for the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation – but this year we undertake to solve the dilemma of the queue going all the way round the block on the sale days, by having two viewing days before the artworks go on sale.

4th - 8th APRIL – SOLOMON GALLERY, DUBLIN

Sole Of The City

Added on by Adrian and Shane.
We were commissioned by Dr Martens to create this painting specifically for their new Dublin store.

The painting titled ‘Sole Of The City’, is now on permanent exhibition at the Dr Martens store on Duke Street, Dublin 2.

"The idea behind 'Sole Of The City' is that the sole of the boot is the map of the city. The classic imprint of the Dr Marten boot rising to become buildings and city streets. Depicting iconic Dublin landmarks, including the Poolbeg Chimneys, Liberty Hall, the Spire, Molly Malone and the Ha'penny Bridge, rising from the sole."

This time lapse video shows how the painting was created:

All Together Human - Protest Art Exhibit

Added on by Adrian and Shane.
All Together Human’ is a provocative one-day exhibition of protest art by Ireland’s leading creatives. Marking Irish AIDS Day 2017 (June 15th), proceeds from the sale of work will support the work of HIV activist group, ACT UP Dublin.

Featuring:

Adrian+Shane ▲ ADW ▲ Aoife Dooley ▲ Emma Blake ▲ Hazel Coonagh ▲ Jim Fitzpatrick ▲ Friz ▲ Sean Hillen ▲ MASER ▲ Morgan ▲ Fuchsia MacAree ▲ Jess Tobin ▲ Solus ▲ Richard Seabrooke ▲ Signs of Power ▲ Will St Leger

The title, ‘All Together Human’ sums up the theme of this exhibit. Across our social, religious, economic and geographical differences, HIV – the human immunodeficiency virus – affects us as people. Altogether human in our weaknesses and strengths, our failures and achievements, our rage and joyfulness. All together, human, in solidarity, defiance and hope.

64 Bits Exhibition

Added on by Adrian+Shane.
A selection of images by Adrian+Shane feature in the '64 Bits' exhibition at 'Here East' in London right now. The exhibition runs from March 30th - April 21st. Admission is free.

There was a lot of weird shit going on in the early days of the internet. Taking us back in time, 64 Bits is an interactive recreation of the early years of the web, which hopes to tell the stories of the forgotten artist engineers that shaped today’s digital culture. See a working version of the first search engine, Archie, created by Alan Emtage; the work of Susan Kare - who designed the first microsoft playing cards and browse the very first website made in 1991. The exhibition also includes an open-door digital media archiving service, where artists and designers can bring in obsolete media to migrate inaccessible historical artwork to a modern format.

East Bay Lane,
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park,
London,
