“For The Love Of God” asked creatives from all over Ireland to respond to the brief interpreting “God” in whatever way they saw fit. The responses to this often controversial and ambiguous topic have been as varied and contrasting as would be expected. The pieces range from the literal to the abstract and often the idiosyncratic. It makes for an ecclectic and intriguing body of work that is not to be missed.
“For The Love Of God” will be officially opened by 2009 Institute of Creative Advertising and Design (ICAD) President and creative director extraordinaire David Joyce on 2nd July at 7pm at the Mill Street Studios,
Mill Street, Dublin 8.
This exhibition features a piece by Adrian + Shane
42 Rotations
"Filmed at the Astoria (G-A-Y) in London on November 19th 2005 using a Canon IXUS 50 digital camera. It was originally meant to take a photograph but the camera was on the wrong setting and recorded a (one second long) accidental film instead! We then used that second of video footage, repeating the same clip over and over 42 times. The color changes with each repetition. We used the original sound, you don't hear any music, just a loud violent noise."
